Purpose- Our goal is to give Haiti a pulse of communication and speedy recovery to the educational system as well. We want to provide a means of communication and education via PC.
Our goals:
- Develop some form of network and PC interactivity that will act as a crutch for the educational system.
- Try to establish a relationship with builders and construction workers to get a grasp and timeframe of when and how we can implement an I.T infrastructure.
- Contact vendors and make them aware of our goals to get Haiti back “Online”. Doing so will give us a better shot of getting a larger scale donation, as far as computer equipment is concerned.
- Get approval for store-front solicitation and collections for I.T related equipment at local retailers such as Best Buy, Microcenter and P.C Richards.
- Further down the line we want to establish Wi-Fi hotspots throughout Haiti so everyone can have access to the internet which in return gives Haiti an unlimited amount of online resources and information.
- Can’t emphasize the importance AWARENESS. We want our brothers and sisters in Haiti to be aware of the free services that will be available to them through the web. Services such as Skype, Dictionary.com, Encyclopedia.com, etc… Everything from speaking to their love ones FOR FREE, located anywhere in the world through Skype to accessing educational tools, and even enjoying free music online. Give them the power of KNOWING and they will take it from there.
The goals mentioned above are mostly immediate goals but we seek a bigger vision… In few words that vision is to give Haiti the world and beyond through technology and the WORLD WIDE WEB (www).
